The Big Bad Wolf Book Sale is back again this year at MIECC, The Mines, Seri Kembangan from 7-17 December 2018. This is Malaysia's leading book fair and a great opportunity to stock up on massively discounted reading material.
Most of the books sold are print overruns or remaindered books. Some of the titles are not great but with over 4.5 million new books on sale you are sure to find plenty of good purchases.
I have attended this event for the past 4 years. Prices have been creeping upwards each year but they are still very good value when compared to regular book stores. This year I bought these 13 books for example, including five hardbacks, for just RM 160.
They have sections for Bahasa Malaysia, Chinese and English books and genres include fiction, non-fiction, reference, history, art, design, architecture, graphic novels, self-help, business, biographies, religion, nature, gardening, cooking, teenager fiction and more.
The sale is a particularly good place to buy inexpensive children's books and gift sets.
The books sale is open 24 hours a day from 7 - 17 December 2018.
It can get very busy so avoid peak times.
There is no admission charge.
This year they have small supermarket trolleys to lighten your load while you browse around this massive exhibition space. Some people bring small suitcases with wheels to transport their purchases back to their cars. Otherwise you have to bring reusable bags or purchase plastic bags for 20 sen each.
You can park in the MIECC complex. RM 5 per entry.
There is also parking in the adjacent Mines shopping mall.
Big Bad Wolf is held at the Malaysia International Exhibition & Convention Centre (MIECC) at the Mines in Seri Kembangan, not far from KL.
